Login Errors With User Accounts - Fix Upcoming
There are a number of UEF account permissions problems due to a system error. The fix is currently being prepared. Login problems may affect various services such as WebOodi and student email. We’ll post a note to the kamu News page when the error has been fixed and logging into services works again.

A new staff member can activate their account two weeks before the employment contract begins, after the employment contract has been recorded in personnel information system Mepco.
The user account will form in an hour after the activation, but the access rights are not valid before the employment contract begins. Full access rights are only given to a strongly identified person. Strong identification can be done by activating the UEF account with Finnish online banking codes, or by visiting the Servicedesk with an official ID.

A student can activate their account the next day their information has been recorded in the student register Oodi. The user account forms in an hour after the activation, but the access rights are not given before the study right begins (1.8. or 1.1.), the student has registered as present and has been identified strongly.  

If you have had a UEF user account before, the access rights are added to the existing account automatically if a new employment contract or study right is recorded. Do not activate another account! You can then access it again just by changing the password.

Other users are recorded in Mepco, according to the Mepco instructions. The user has to be in contact with the unit that will do the recording. More information about external users.

One-time code

If you have Finnish online banking codes, use them to activate your account.

When the student information is added to the student register Oodi, it will be transferred to the identity manager the next day. An automatic email containing the one-time-code is sent to the personal email address in Oodi for activating your user account.

If you have not provided an email address when you have confirmed your study place, you can get the one-time code from IT Servicedesk.

With the one-time-code you have very restricted access rights. Full access rights are allowed only to a person identified strongly. You can be identified strongly with logging in with your Finnish online banking codes or by visiting the IT Servicedesk with an official identity card.

After logging in to the activation (if you use one-time code, login with the student number after SAS-), check your name information, choose your preferred name, your own UEF user name, and create the password for your UEF account. During the activation your UEF email address will be take into use. Student UEF email is automatically username@student.uef.fi and staff UEF email is forename.surname@uef.fi.
