Applied Physics Research in UEF Strategy 2015-2020

University of Eastern Finland (UEF) has identified five top-level international research areas in its strategy for 2015-2020. Professor Kari Lehtinen from the Department of Applied Physics is in charge of the top-level research area "Aerosols, Climate Change and Human Health".

In addition to those top-level research areas UEF has identified also five advanced-level strong research areas. One of these areas is "Musculoskeletal Disorders" that is co-led by our Professor Rami Korhonen.

Third level of research defined in UEF Strategy is emerging research areas. Two of these areas are directed by our professors. "Methods and Applications of Uncertainty Modelling" is led by professors Marko Vauhkonen, Ville Kolehmainen and Jari Kaipio. The emerging research area "Aquatic Research in Changing World" is co-directed by Professor Vesa-Pekka Lehto.
