Maija is the latest addition to the group of nutrition epidemiologist. She has started her PhD research on the dietary factors that are related to memory disorders and cognitive performance. Maija graduated as a Master of Health Sciences in Health Education and Health Promotion in 2012 from the University of Jyväskylä. In 2019 she will graduate as a clinical nutritionist from the University of Eastern Finland. The results of her master’s thesis “Associations of dietary cholesterol and egg intakes with risk of incident dementia or Alzheimer’s disease” were published in a scientific paper in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2017.
In her free time Maija enjoys e.g. running, hiking, reading and baking. As a busy mother of two little children she is also more than happy to just have a quiet moment with a cup of coffee and a magazine.
