6th Karelia Symposium

6th Karelia Symposium is cancelled due to coronavirus

The symposium will be postponed for spring 2021.

A more specific new date will be announced later.

The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and Teollisuusneuvos Heikki Väänänen's Fund organize the 6th Karelia Symposium under the theme “Health form wood”.

The theme of the symposium covers the effect of wooden materials on health in construction, and the potential of trees as a source material for health-promoting products. The research of trees as a source of health has been strengthening in recent years. The symposium offers research and practical insight into the topic by leading experts in the field.

Posters are invited to a poster exhibition, where anyone can showcase his/her research findings. Audience votes for the best poster, which will be awarded.

Grant decisions for wood science research at UEF, provided by Teollisuusneuvos Heikki Väänänen’s Fund, will be published in Karelia Symposium.

Official language: English.

Registration deadline is 8 April 2020.

Coffee and refreshments are complimentary, but you should be prepared to pay the lunch for yourself.
