University of Eastern Finland has two campuses in Kuopio and Joensuu. In Kuopio campus the research and studies are focused in environmental and human health.
Kuopio is the capital of the lake district of Finland and it is renowned of its natural beauty. Kuopio has all four seasons, and it provides possibilities both for summer and winter activities.
Finland belongs geographically and culturally to the Nordic countries, althougt the Finnish language is more related to Estonian and Hungarian. Finland belongs to the European Union and our currency is Euro. The Finnish educational system has excellent reputation, and it has received top rankings in international comparisons such as in Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and Times Higher Education Ranking . Finland has also been ranked to be the safest, most stable and happiest country in the world.
