Tuition fees and scholarships
Students who are not citizens of an EU/EEA member state* are liable to pay the tuition fee of 15 000 € per academic year. For details about exemptions please visit Studyinfo
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the University of Eastern Finland, all new students admitted in 2020 are eligible to receive a partial tuition waiver. In the Master’s Degree Programme in Biomedicine, the tuition waiver is 80% of the annual tuition fee. For the second year of study, tuition waivers are available to students who have completed a minimum of 55 ECTS of studies included in their degree, during their first year of study.
There is no separate application for scholarship. All applicants need to complete the Student Application Form. Those applicants who are applying for a scholarship need to additionally complete the “Application for Scholarship,” which can be found at the end of the Student Application Form. The decision about the scholarship is made in conjunction with student admission, and the student is notified of the outcome in the letter of acceptance.
The scholarship does not cover living costs. Students are expected to cover all living expenses (app. 800 € per month) and other study related costs from their own financial resources.
Other mandatory fee: Membership of the Student Union. Further information is available on the website of the Student Union.
